Sara Jane Olson, born Kathleen Ann Soliah on January 26, 1947, is a former member of the radical group known as the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA). She gained notoriety for her involvement in various criminal activities, including a bank robbery and the murder of a woman during a botched bombing attempt.
After being a fugitive for over 20 years, Olson was arrested in 1999 and eventually pleaded guilty to charges related to her involvement in the crimes committed by the SLA. She was sentenced to prison for her role in the 1975 attempted bombing and murder, among other charges.
In 2008, Olson was released on parole after serving over six years in prison. Since her release, she has become an advocate for criminal justice reform and has worked to help those impacted by the prison system. Despite her criminal past, Olson has received support from some individuals who believe she has been rehabilitated and deserves a second chance.
